The read

Comes alive on a NNE through ENE. A long ridge feeds a big north-east bowl, though the bowl can read lighter than it really is.

Is it my level

CP rated, an honest ridge-soaring bowl with room to learn the Downs.

Launch

Launch along the north-east ridge into the bowl.

Landing

Top land on the ridge above the bowl.

Getting there

Gated club car park; the Barley Mow at Selmeston is the local. Postcode BN26 6UW.

The catch

In a NNE the quarry behind throws rotor and a venturi that flatters the wind. Rabbit burrows underfoot, and shooting in the quarry woods in season.

Bit cross and gusty this afternoon, worth waiting for it to back off after 3.

Bottom field's clear, gate code's the usual. Cows in the top field, land short.
